The Dream Hat/Cook For Your Life

In a land where everyone has lost the ability to dream, a little boy embarks on a desperate journey to find the secret of The Dream Hat.  This song filled film is the first feature by animator Gene Hamm.  It follows in the tradition of Alice in Wonderland, The Wizard of Oz, The Point and The Phantom Toll booth.  Hamm calls it his Yellow Submarine.

It is preceded by Cook For Your Life.  In this animated short, a chicken, a pig, and a bull are the last three animals on the farm and have until lunchtime to turn the farmer into a vegetarian.

Gene Hamm is a veteran animator who has worked on Ralph Bakshi's Lord of The Rings, The Smurfs for Hanna-Barbera and the Gumby TV series.  His new animated work in progress is Hell Toupee (when genetically engineered living toupees escape from the lab, the only person who can save the world from the killer toupees is the local female barber).  A short version of this upcoming feature won Best Animation at the Hell's Kitchen NYC Festival in New York in January 2020.
